Gary richardson
Conservative businessman and former County Commissioner Gary Richardson is a proven conservative leader with an unmatched record of success.
Gary was elected to the Georgia State House to represent District 125 in a Special Election Runoff in March 2024. With only weeks left of the 2024 Legislation Session, Gary quickly got to work and helped Georgia Republicans deliver for our families and businesses.
He understands that our community needs trusted, conservative leadership to keep Columbia and McDuffie Counties safe and strong.
Gary previously served on the Columbia County Board of Commissioners for 8 years and was elected by his colleagues to serve as Vice-Chair five times. On the Commission, he proudly voted to reduce taxes, fund law enforcement, and safeguard the traditional values that we hold dear.
Guided by his conservative principles, experience in the private sector, and a proven record of public service, Gary is ready to continue delivering for the citizens of District 125. Priorities

Keeping Georgia #1 for Business
Gary is a small business owner and he’s fighting for others like him. First, Gary helped stop the double taxation many small business owners were paying. His latest efforts this session will help business owners from rising insurance costs by stopping frivlous lawsuits that are destroying businesses in our state.
Fully Fund Police & Keep Our Community Safe
Gary supports the Trump Administration’s efforts to deport those here illegally. That is why he is making sure our state law enforcement works with the federal government in their efforts to remove illegals from our country. Gary has also voted to fully fund law enforcement and ensure they have the tools needed to keep us safe from crime and illegal drugs.
Fighting for Students
Gary is fighting for Georgia students. He stood firm against the radical left’s woke agenda that hurts our kids by banning men from girl’s sports. He also supported efforts to enhance school security to keep our schools and students safe, fully fund our schools, and invest in increasing literacy.
Financial Relief and Tax Cuts
In his first term, Gary helped deliver billions of dollars in tax savings by cutting the state income tax, returning tax dollars directly to taxpayers, increasing the child tax exemption, and providing property tax relief for homeowners. Gary isn’t trying to spend more of your money - he’s returning it.
Hurricane Helene Relief
Our community was hit hard by Hurricane Helene. Not one to sit idly by while waiting on the federal government, Gary got to work at the state level to deliver over $800 million in relief to our families and businesses that were hit hardest.
Protecting Conservative Values
The woke Left is coming for us, but Gary is standing in their way. Gary voted to ban men from women’s sports, stop taxpayer-funded sex changes for prisoners, and blocked doctors from performing sex changes on our kids.
