Gary richardson
Conservative businessman and former County Commissioner Gary Richardson is a proven conservative leader with an unmatched record of success.
Gary was elected to the Georgia State House to represent District 125 in a Special Election Runoff in March 2024.
He understands that our community needs trusted, conservative leadership to keep Columbia and McDuffie Counties safe and strong.
Gary previously served on the Columbia County Board of Commissioners for 8 years and was elected by his colleagues to serve as Vice-Chair five times. On the Commission, he proudly voted to reduce taxes, fund law enforcement, and safeguard the traditional values that we hold dear.
Guided by his conservative principles, experience in the private sector, and a proven record of public service, Gary is delivering for the citizens of District 125. Capped Property Taxes, Cut Income Taxes, and Returned Your Tax Dollars
Gary has been working hard to help families struggling with historic inflation. He's taken common sense measures to lower your property and income tax bills while also returning unused tax dollars directly back to taxpayers.
Led the Effort to Allow Local Communities to Pass Additional Property Tax Relief
Gary and other Republican leaders offered proposals that would have allowed local voters to completely eliminate property taxes on homestead properties, but the bills were blocked by Democrats, who voted 14 times to block property tax relief this legislative session.
Passed Lawsuit and Insurance Reform to Lower Insurance Costs
Gary is a small business owner and he’s fighting for others like him. His latest efforts this session will help business owners from rising insurance costs by stopping frivlous lawsuits that are destroying businesses in our state.
Fully Funded Schools, Made Literacy a Priority, and Strengthened School
Safety
Once again, Gary and Georgia Republicans fully funded our public education system while increasing investments in our kids. Now, every school has a dedicated literacy coach to ensure kids are reading at grade level and schools are safer and more secure.
